What are a student’s options if they are academically suspended after using the forgiveness option?

Students who are academically suspended after using a forgiveness policy can only return in summer terms to raise their cumulative GPA. Attending in the summer does prevent students from re-entering under forgiveness until the appropriate time has transpired.

What does one calendar year mean with respect to semesters?

One calendar year means 365 days beyond the last day of class in the last semester in which a student receives grades for a course at Appalachian. For example, a student who is last enrolled in the spring semester won’t be eligible to apply for re-entry on one year forgiveness until the summer term of the following year.
