Traditional

You are a traditional transfer applicant if you have have attempted any college coursework the term following graduation or joined the military after graduating high school. Learn more about applying to Appalachian as a transfer student.

Research housing options

On-campus housing is required for students that graduated from high school less than one year prior to enrolling. Housing for transfer students who are not required to live on campus is limited. On-campus housing assignments are made on a first-come, first-serve and space-available basis.

You can look up courses in the course equivalencies database. This information is not comprehensive, however. As new institutions and courses are evaluated, the information will be added to this system. Your official articulation of transfer credit will be evaluated upon admission to Appalachian.

All transfer guides are examples of how a degree can be completed in four years. Individual guides will be developed for each student in consultation with the academic advisor. Prior credit, course availability, and student needs must be considered in developing the individual guide.

Whether you are a  prospective main campus transfers coming from community colleges, four-year institutions, or the military, schedule an info session to learn more about App State! During the different sessions, you will have the opportunity to connect with a counselor and a Transfer Student Mentor.

NC4VETS

This resource guide is produced and published by the North Carolina Division of Veterans Affairs in conjunction with the NC Department of Health and Human Services and The Department of Commerce to assist and educate veterans in learning about state and federal veteran benefits.

Off-Campus Relations

Off-Campus Relations will point you to local, reasonable housing options in Boone and the surrounding area, as well as off-campus transportation and parking availability.

Appalachian Army ROTC

Through the classes and field training with Appalachian Army ROTC, you will learn first-hand what it takes to lead others, motivate groups and conduct missions as an Officer in the Army. Upon graduation from Army ROTC, you will earn the bar of a Second Lieutenant and become a leader for life

Student Veterans of Appalachian

The Student Veterans of Appalachian are Mountaineers who have served our nation honorably in the Armed Forces of the United States and now are serving as students and faculty of Appalachian.

Exchange students

If you are at Appalachian as an exchange student, the Office of International Education and Development reserves a room for you in one of the residence halls on campus. Private rooms are not available and every effort is made to place you with an American roommate near some other exchange students.
