Transfer Student Organization

Transfer Residence Hall

Appalachian offers transfer students a 248 bed residence hall exclusively for our transfer population where students are surrounded by other transfer students from a range of institutions around the country who will live and experience their new environment together through expanded programming.

Aspire Appalachian

Aspire Appalachian is a seamless pathway for students enrolled at partner community colleges to complete their degree at Appalachian. Students participating will receive dedicated advising assistance from both your community college and Appalachian, Aspire programming and newsletters, and special events.

Transfer Pre-Orientation Program

Transfer Pre-Orientation Program is a day of activities designed to help newly admitted Appalachian transfer students find the answers to all of their questions and prepare for their upcoming Orientation session.

Transfer Admissions & Engagement

Transfer Admissions & Engagement is a great resource for any student thinking about transferring to Appalachian State University. Contact them with any questions or concerns about credit hours, on-campus programs and housing.

Second-degree

You are second-degree tranfer student if you have already earned an undergraduate degree from another accredited institution. If you have previously earned credit at Appalachian, you will need to apply for readmission.

International

You are an international student if you are interested in applying to Appalachian and you require a visa to study in the United States. Learn more about applying as an international student.

Military

You are a military student if you are active duty, national guard, reservist, veteran or retired. All proceed through the same admission process as transfer students, but may need to submit additional documents. Learn more about applying as a military student or dependent at Appalachian.

Traditional

You are a traditional transfer applicant if you have have attempted any college coursework the term following graduation or joined the military after graduating high school. Learn more about applying to Appalachian as a transfer student.

Research housing options

On-campus housing is required for students that graduated from high school less than one year prior to enrolling. Housing for transfer students who are not required to live on campus is limited. On-campus housing assignments are made on a first-come, first-serve and space-available basis.
