Starting Fall Off Right
Welcome to the 1st edition of the 2022-2023 year for “The Mountaineer Inclusive”! You may be thinking, “what is The Mountaineer Inclusive?” This short, monthly newsletter provides up-to-date information on the admissions process and various events for incoming students like you! This newsletter also provides the space to share what’s going on at App. We will highlight current students, staff, and faculty, share some amazing events happening on campus, and introduce clubs and organizations that help make App State an inclusive and welcoming place to be! But hey, don’t take my word for it… take a look for yourself :)
First, we would like to wish all a Happy Latine/ Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15- Oct.15) by recognizing the contributions of the Latine/Hispanic community on and off campus and the many celebrations happening!
To commence this month’s activities, here is a message from our Chief Diversity Officer, Jamie Parson: Celebrating National Hispanic/Latine Heritage Month.
Admissions Events
We had a great time welcoming everyone to campus for our Fall Open House this past weekend! We will also be hosting Mountaineer Fusion this Thursday, Oct. 13, for students to learn more about App State and gain community and an understanding of the multicultural student experience at App.
Transfer Admissions & Engagement
Transfer Admissions & Engagement will be celebrating National Transfer Student Week from Oct. 17-21, so make sure to follow along and hear all about App State's transfer experience. If you are scheduled to tour App State this week we plan to make it extra special -- all future transfer students will get a free App State t-shirt from our office (John E Thomas Hall, Suite 130) when you are on campus!!
