The Turchin Center for the Visual Arts welcomes visitors to experience the arts through quiet contemplation, engaging discussion, dynamic tours, festive exhibition celebrations, enlightening art talks, or creative art workshops. Admission is always FREE.

Team Sunergy - App State Solar Vehicle Team - 8:00am-1:30pm

Team Sunergy is made up of graduate and undergraduate students at Appalachian State University. Since 2013 our team has sought to represent North Carolina and Appalachian State's commitment to sustainable energy initiatives at international solar vehicle competitions.

Student Veteran Services, Room 251 — 10:00am - 1:00pm

Student Veteran Services and the Major General Edward M. Reeder Student Veteran Resource center serve as a central hub for all things military affiliated at Appalachian State University.  It is our goal to provide programming, services, and resources to assist military affiliated students for their entire higher education journey.


Intercultural Student Affairs, International Hallway (First Floor) — 10:30am - 12:30pm

The Office of Intercultural Student Affairs seeks to care for all intersectional experiences, engage students of marginalized and minoritized identities, and transform the Mountaineer journey. Explore their three student-led outreach centers; The Multicultural Center, LGBTQ Center, and Women's Center.

 Student Recreation Center, — 10:00am - 2:00pm 

Commonly referred to as the SRC, the Student Recreation Center is a 120,000 sq. ft. center that features a diverse recreation experiences under one roof!

Belk Library & Information Commons, Map #30 — 8:00am - 2:00pm

Centrally located on campus in a beautifully-designed facility, Belk Library and Information Commons is a hub of activity. The library shares its holdings with Western Carolina University and UNC Asheville and features a rich and unique collection.

Check out the Dark Sky Observatory online tonight! Dark Sky Observatory is the research facility used by faculty and their students to conduct research in astrophysics. 

This Zoom session will allow us to show you objects in the sky via the telescope's cameras. 

  • Drop-in between 8:30 p.m and 10:30 p.m. 
  • Chance to see Mars, the Orion Nebula, the Crab Nebula, star clusters and galaxies
  • View images taken live of the targets and also learn about the operation of the telescope and dome
