College of Business

Appalachian State is well known for the Walker College of Business. The college offers over 10 different majors ranging from the following: supply chain management, marketing, management, computer information systems and many more. Whether it is utilizing electronics by sharing documents or submitting large research papers on our online portal called ASULearn, the College of Business is committed to practice and implement sustainable features.

Walker College of Business contains many academic programs as well including MBA programs, international pograms, sustainable business, and the honors program. The international program encourages and aids students with the necessary tools to study abroad. All of these programs are faculty-led programs which provide students with many different opportunities along the trip. Study abroad trips are a requirement for international business majors but are seen an extremely common event that many undergraduate students take advantage of. Not only are whole semester trips offered, but the College of Business offers many summer, spring and fall trips as well.

The resources the Walker College of Business presents are wonderful! Some of these include the Brantley Risk and Insurance Center, which provides risk management and insurance majors with a club and facility to engage in the best business practices. In addition, the Business Career Services provides students with professionalism, leadership, and career coaching and counseling. This facility is used to correct and repair resumes, prepare for interviews or sales pitches, write cover letters and find internships and jobs. This center provides drop in hours as well as scheduled appointments with a career counselor of your choice. Lastly, the best feature of the Walker College of Business is the advising center. In many other areas of study on campus, one or two counselors are assigned to everyone in that area of study. As for the Walker College of Business, there is access to over seven counselors just for all business majors. This makes appointment scheduling so much easier and allows the student to have access to emergency appointments if needed.
