Coming to college is a big change in anyone's life; you have to live on your own, cook for yourself and learn how to budget your money. It can be really difficult for students to handle their money well, especially when there is no one looking over our shoulder to make sure we are on the right track. As a finance major, I realize the importance of budgeting my money effectively and how it can have a huge impact on my daily life.
Here are some tips to take into consideration. First, save as much as you can every summer and try to save money from holidays and birthdays. Also, it is important to manage how many times you go out to eat because those types of purchases add up very quickly. College is a place where there are so many fun things to do, and you do not want to miss out because you did not budget yourself properly.
There are also a lot of tools that can help you budget your money the right way. The most important advice I could give is to save your money for different activities and make a plan for where you see yourself in the future.
