To Apply for On-Campus Housing
Before you can apply, you will need your official Appalachian username and password. You will receive this information in the mail at your home address about 2 weeks after you receive your admission decision letter.
Students must pay their deposit before the housing application becomes available through myApp account. The housing application deadline is May 1.
Your myApp account will include a link to the housing application after you receive your admission decision letter.
On-campus housing not guaranteed for transfer students
Transfer students who are interested in on-campus housing may apply for housing but are not guaranteed an assignment. Spaces for on-campus housing for transfer students are limited. Visit www.offcampus.appstate.edu for more information about off-campus housing.
Move-in Dates - To Be Announced
If you arrive late
If you cannot move in during the designated times, please check in with the office at your assigned hall. If you have further questions, contact Housing and Residence Life at 828-262-2160 so they can make arrangements for you. You must move in before 6:00 p.m. on the first day of classes or you will be considered a "no-show" and can lose your housing assignment. For more information, visit On-Campus Housing's Move-in Day information.
Housing Options
On-campus - Appalachian's 20 residence halls house more than 5,000 students. The halls vary in size and style, with accommodations ranging from double rooms to suites and apartments. Most halls provide study rooms, lounges, and some halls even have kitchenettes.
Except for married students and students living with parents or a guardian, all freshmen are required to live in university housing.
First-year fall semester transfer teaching education majors are encouraged to apply for residence in the on-campus living and learning community. For more information, read more about the Community for Transfer Teaching Education Majors.
Off-campus Living
Appalachian provides resources and assistance for those living off campus. Visit the Off-Campus web site for information about where to live, safety and security, community events, and help finding a roommate.
