At this time, Appalachian is unable to offer financial assistance to incoming international students. All applicants must have sufficient financial resources to cover their expenses in full.Estimated Costs
A current estimate of expenses for one unmarried student living on campus for one academic year (fall and spring semesters) is $30,715.00. This is the amount required on the financial statement for the I-20. Details of this estimate are in the table below. Students who bring spouses or children should allocate an additional $3,000 for the first dependent and $1,000 for each dependent thereafter.
In calculating expenses, students should understand that individuals who hold student (F-1) visas may not legally work off-campus during their first year in F-1 status. International applicants must not, therefore, count on employment, including part-time during the academic year or full-time during the summer, as a primary means of financial support while attending Appalachian.
